Merry Moosemas

The great holiday of Moosemas comes from the old Saxon word " mooz" , which meant : to lounge about, watching old movies , eating fritos and bad casseroles . Hard to believe, but another year has come and gone and the holiday season is upon us. So grab the remote, put on an old movie, grab a bag of fritos and kick back and get some quality couch time in with family and friends with all the great traditions we have all come to love over the years that make Moosemas such a beloved holiday. Above is the traditional Moosemas tree in it's full fall color - the Japanese maple . Read here about the centuries long traditions and history of this ancient festival that finds it's roots in Saturnalia and the feast of Sol Invictus .

The World comes to Portland

The World cruise ship docks along the waterfront in Portland, Oregon for a 5 day visit. The 644 foot long 12 story high ship has 140 residents who instead of renting a room for a temporary cruise have bought at a minimum a $1 million dollar per room for the smallest condo on this ship that sails around the world . Why buy a house in Hawaii, a villa on the coast of southern France or an apartment in Shanghai when you can have them all .
